The III National Colloquium of Aromatic and Medicinal Plants took place at the Escola Superior Agrária de Castelo Branco, from March 24th to 25th, followed by a Producers’ Meeting, on the 26th, with visits to companies in the sector in region.
The National Colloquium of Aromatic and Medicinal Plants is organized by the Portuguese Horticulture Association, in collaboration with the Escola Superior Agrária de Castelo Branco and the CBPBI_Centro de Biotecnologia de Plantas da Beira Interior.
Several dozen researchers presented scientific papers on innovation, therapeutic and medicinal use of AMP and other applications of this very diverse and extremely rich flora that exists throughout the country.
At the Producers’ Meeting, on March 26, the participants visited the companies Ervas da Zoé and Sementes Vivas. As well as to the experimental fields and laboratories of the Escola Superior Agrária de Castelo Branco and the CBPBI_Centro de Biotecnologia de Plantas da Beira Interior, where PAMs are the object of research to value the endogenous resources of Beira Baixa.

On the 24th and 25th of March, two CULTIVAR participations took place. We had the participation of Anabela Paula (Centre for Functional Ecology – Science for People & the Planet) who brought “Da natureza à mesa – um serviço do ecossistema que pode diferenciar a gastronomia local!”, and the participation of Joana Costa (Centre for Functional Ecology – Science for People & the Planet), who spoke about the CULTIVAR Project and its objectives and lines of action!
