At the end of April (17th and 18th), CULTIVAR was present at the first conference of the COST action “European Network for Innovative Woody Plant Cloning” (CopyTree – CostAction 21157), which took place in Santiago de Compostela.
At the conference, some of the results obtained in the CULTIVAR project were shared.
Thus, Ana Pedrosa and Daniela Duarte, demonstrated in poster format the work that has been done throughout the project taking into account the genetic characterization and conservation of the genetic resource of the quince. Elsa Baltazar and Tércia Lopes (PhD students of the University of Coimbra), having been selected to present their work, in the form of an oral presentation, addressed the themes:
1) large-scale propagation of prunoid rootstocks- comparison in semi-solid medium and temporary immersion systems;
2) mechanisms involved in the graft-rootstock interaction in Amendoeira.
